1923 V117 Maple Crispette #8 Babe Ruth

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,280

Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. Only three examples grade higher by PSA! Exceptional example of #8 Babe Ruth from the V117 Maple Crispette set. Ruth is one of the key cards from this rare Canadian candy issue. A portrait image of the New York Yankees Hall of Famer graces the front of the card, with his name and card number printed underneath. The offered card is well centered, with a slight tilt to the image, light touches of wear at the corners, and some scattered spotting on front, which does not detract at all from the overall display value and is mentioned for the sake of accuracy. The reverse is clean, with a boldly printed prize redemption offer (complete sets could be exchanged for prizes). Maple Crispette Ruth cards are very rare, and this is only the third example we have ever offered (the other two were in partial or near-complete sets). A worthy addition to any advanced Babe Ruth or type-card collection. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $2,280
