1952 Topps #48 Joe Page and 49 Johnny Sain PSA-Graded Incorrect Bio Variations

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $960

Presented are two of the key rarities needed for any complete 1952 Topps master set: #48 Joe Page and 49 Johnny Sain, each with incorrect biographies on the reverse. Somehow during production, the biographies for Page and Sain were switched, resulting in black-back variations of each player featuring the other's bio. The error was ultimately corrected, thus creating two unusual and very well known back-variation rarities in the 1952 Topps set. Both cards are professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA, with #48 grading EX 5 (bright, crisp, and clean, with strong corners and a light wrinkle in the upper right) and 49 grading PR-FR 1 (bright colors, near-perfect centering, and scattered creasing). Each is a presentable example that would be a worthy addition to any 1952 Topps complete master set. The SMR for just the Page in the assigned grade is $700. Total: 2 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $960
