1909-1911 T206 White Border Bill Sweeney - Interesting Printing Anomaly!
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $540
Fascinating example of Bill Sweeney (Boston Braves) from the legendary T206 White Border series. The card displays a slight color shift, which is noticeable in the left border and in the area of Sweeney's bat and hands. In addition to this interesting printing anomaly visible on the front, the card also features a miscut advertising reverse on which approximately 80% of a regular Piedmont 350 reverse is visible while 20% of another Piedmont 350 back is visible along the right border. The T206 set, affectionately known as "The Monster," is the most popular of all 1910-era sets and is still yielding new and exciting discoveries more than a century after its production. As collectors have become more sophisticated, there has been a growing appreciation for all great rarities and unusual cards associated with this landmark set. This a very noteworthy T206 printing error that we believe will be of great interest to T206 scholars and collectors. Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $540
