Dizzy Dean Single-Signed Ball

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,320

Rawlings "Playmaker" ball signed in blue felt-tip pen by legendary Hall of Fame pitcher Dizzy Dean. Dean's signature grades "8/9" and appears on the top panel, directly above the "Rawlings" company name. Dean died in 1974, just before single-signed balls had become the ideal for most autograph collectors. As a result, Dean singles are scarcer than one would imagine. This is just the third we have offered in the past ten years and it is an outstanding example. The ball displays light age toning and is in Excellent condition overall. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,500+. SOLD FOR $1,320
