1960s Roberto Clemente Signed Baseball - PSA/DNA
Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,320
Wilson "Harvey Kuenn All-Stars" baseball signed in blue ink ("7/8") across the sweet spot by Hall of Fame outfielder Roberto Clemente. Also featured on the ball, each individually on a side panel, are the signatures of Willie Mays (black ink, "8/9"), Orlando Cepeda (blue ink, "7/8"), and Juan Marichal (blue ink, "8"). As most collector's know, Clemente's signature on the sweet spot is the exception rather than the rule and the fact that this particular example can be displayed as a single (only the Mays signature is partially visible when properly presented as such) only adds to its appeal. Of course, the ball can also be displayed as a Mays, Marichal, or Cepeda single, making it a unique Hall of Famer multisigned ball in that regard. The signatures of Clemente, Marichal, and Cepeda have been spot coated with what appears to be a light layer of protective shellac; otherwise, the moderately toned ball remains in Very Good to Excellent condition. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Reserve $300. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,320
