1933 R319 Goudey #207 Mel Ott PSA EX-MT 6
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $480
Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA (submitted by REA). Extremely attractive example of #207 Mel Ott, New York Giants Hall of Famer, from the 1933 Goudey set. Ott was known as a power hitter and noted for his dominance in almost every hitting category, leading his team in home runs for eighteen straight years and becoming the first National Leaguer to hit 500 career home runs. This popular card features a crisp image of Ott in a batting pose set against a bold, red background. Near-flawless registration, outstanding centering, and four strong corners. Clean, boldly printed reverse with some background color bleed/wet sheet transfer visible. This card has been consigned by a pioneer collector who did most of his collecting during the 1960s and 1970s with a very keen focus on condition and eye-appeal. His complete set appears in this auction, organized into a number of different lots by theme and condition. This is a very attractive high-grade key card example that would be a worthy addition to any high-quality 1933 Goudey set or Hall of Fame collection. Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $480
