1939 to 1966 Exhibits Collection (366) Including 106 Hall of Famers!
Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,560
Presented is an extremely substantial collection of 366 Exhibits cards spanning the years 1939 to 1966 and highlighted by more than one hundred Hall of Famers and stars, including Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, and Mickey Mantle. The bulk of this collection consists of cards from the 1947-1966 series, from which 223 different cards (representing two-thirds of a complete set) are included. Issued by the Exhibit Supply Co. of Chicago over a period of twenty years, the 1947-1966 Exhibits set is loaded with Hall of Famers, stars, and other key cards that make it one of the most comprehensive sets of the era. It is also one of the most overlooked and has received far less attention than it deserves. Exhibit cards were traditionally sold for one penny each, from vending machines placed at arcades and amusement parks for more than four decades (from 1921 to the 1960s).

Exhibit cards in general, in our opinion, represent a particularly outstanding collecting value. This is an extremely sizable collection of Exhibit cards, with countless highlights, of note as a collection due to the number of different cards, but also with a naturally great "break value" if desired because of the high concentration of Hall of Famers. Total: 366 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,560
