1914 E145 Cracker Jack PSA-Graded Collection (14) Including Four Hall of Famers

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $4,200

Collection of fourteen different 1914 E145 Cracker Jack cards, each graded and encapsulated by PSA (except for two ungraded), highlighted by Hall of Famers Grover Alexander, Fred Clarke, Hughie Jennings, and Branch Rixey, as well as one Federal Leaguer and several harder-to-find cards. The 1914 #144 series Cracker Jacks are far rarer than their 1915 counterparts, because the 1914 cards were not available by mail, and could only be obtained one card per package in boxes of Cracker Jacks. Because of their method of issue, 1914 Cracker Jacks are also almost always found with various condition problems including caramel staining. This lot consists of the following: #27 Carrigan (GOOD 2), 34 Thomas (VG-EX 4), 37 Alexander (HOF, PR-FR 1), 45 Luderus (VG 3), 64 Archer (GOOD 2), 70 Clarke (HOF, VG 3), 77 Jennings (HOF, VG 3), 95 Keating (GOOD 2 [MK]), 114 Moriarity (GOOD 2), 117 Easterly (VG 3), 122 Bush (Pr/Fr), 133 Rickey (HOF, PR-FR 1), 138 Gowdy (Pr, the bottom right part of the card has become detached), and 144 J. Walsh (PR-FR 1). Almost all of the cards present with bold colors and minimal caramel staining on the fronts. This is a very attractive collection of 1914 Cracker Jacks that would be worthy additions to any prewar-card collection. The SMR value in the assigned grades (excluding the one qualified card and the two ungraded cards) is $2,750. Total: 14 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000+. SOLD FOR $4,200
