1910 E222 A. W. H. Caramels Paul Sieber

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,680

Sample card from one of the rarest of all "E" card sets, catalogued E222, issued in 1910 by the A. W. H. Caramel Company, featuring players from the Virginia League. The fronts of these cards, which measure 1.5 x 2.75 inches, each have a player portrait that is tinted red, black, brown, or blue and white. Presented is a blue-and-white sample card of Paul Sieber from the 1910 Richmond Colts of the Virginia League. Encapsulated as Authentic by SGC, this example is centered entirely to the top, with a crisp image and light touches of wear to the corners. The back is boldly printed and entirely clean. This card may have long ago been carefully hand-cut from a sheet. We have previously only offered five E222 examples in the last fifteen years. This is an extremely attractive, ideal sample card from one of the rarest of all 1910-era card sets. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000++. SOLD FOR $1,680
