1957 Topps Five-Cent Display Box

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $720

Extremely attractive original five-cent display box from the 1957 Topps baseball series, which originally housed twenty-four nickel packs of this popular issue. Brilliant red and yellow design, featuring a blue-and-white ballplayer on the top panel and "Topps '57 Baseball Bubble Gum" and the price on four panels. The back side panel features a message to the retailer describing how to make his store "Headquarters For The 1957 Baseball Bazooka Contest." Presenting as Near Mint overall, the box retains its stunning original bright colors and displays very light shelf wear at the corners and along the bottom edges. The box is free of any major creases, which are so common to display boxes from this era. The box has been sealed shut and appears exactly as it did on store shelves almost sixty years ago. A superb companion piece to any complete 1957 Topps set or addition to any advertising or display collection. Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $720
