1909-1911 T206 White Border SGC-Graded Collection (9) Including Chase and Waddell - All Unusual Backs!

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $2,160

Stunning collection of nine different cards from the T206 White Border series, each graded and encapsulated by SGC, highlighted by Hal Chase and Hall of Famer Rube Waddell. Each card features a scarce and unusual advertisement on the reverse, one that is encountered far more infrequently than the typical Piedmont or Sweet Caporal advertising backs. SGC Grading Composite: One EX+ 70: Foster (Southern Leaguer, Old Mill). Two EX 60: Chase/portrait, blue (Sovereign 350) and Murphy/throwing (Sovereign 150). Five VG/EX 50: D. Jones (Polar Bear), Killian/pitching (Old Mill), Stahl/glove shows (Tolstoi), J. Tannehill (El Principe De Gales), and Waddell/throwing (HOF, Sovereign 350). One VG 40: Strang (Cycle 350). This is a very pleasing collection of cards in extremely desirable grades. All cards are bright, crisp, and clean, having each been very carefully chosen for inclusion in his collection by our consignor. These cards would make worthy additions to any high-quality T206 set or advertising-back collection. The equivalent SMR value in the assigned grades is $1,357. Total: 9 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+. SOLD FOR $2,160
