1909-1911 T206 White Border SGC EX 60 and VG/EX+ 55 Collection (20) - All Unusual Backs!
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $3,600
Extremely substantial collection of twenty different cards from the T206 White Borders series, each graded and encapsulated by SGC (all submitted by REA). Each card has a scarce advertising back, one that is not in the same league as Drum or Uzit, but still very unusual and seen far less often than standard Piedmont and Sweet Caporal backs. SGC Grading Composite: Fourteen EX 60: S. Barry (Sovereign 350), Burch/fielding (Old Mill), Chase/throwing, dark cap (El Principe De Gales), Easterly (El Principe De Gales), Egan (Polar Bear), Elberfeld/Washington, fielding (Tolstoi), M. McIntyre (American Beauty 350), Pfeister/throwing (Old Mill), Sharpe (Cycle 350), He. Smith (Polar Bear), Snodgrass/catching (Old Mill), Street/catching (El Principe De Gales), Street/portrait (Tolstoi), and Williams (Old Mill). Six VG/EX+ 55: Camnitz/arm at side (Old Mill), Hemphill (Sovereign 150), B. Hinchman (El Principe De Gales), Maddox (American Beauty 350), Nicholls/hands on knees (Sovereign 150), and Pelty/vertical photo (Old Mill). All are bright, crisp, and clean, with bold colors and strong corners. Each of these cards is worthy of inclusion in any high-quality T206 set. These cards have been chosen from a large collection of T206 cards which we have organized by theme and condition. This is a strong and extremely attractive T206 group that is especially noteworthy for their desirable and different advertising backs! The equivalent SMR value in the assigned grades (factoring in the six half-grades at the lower whole-grade level) is $2,550 with no premium assigned for the scarcer backs. Total: 20 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000+. SOLD FOR $3,600
