1882 H804-11 Cosack & Co. Trade Cards SGC-Graded Complete Set (9)

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $600

Presented is a complete nine-card set of 1882 Cosack & Company trade cards, entirely graded and encapsulated by SGC. This postcard-size series of trade cards features colorful baseball scenes inside of a circle on front framed by a light blue border. Five of the cards have advertising overprints on the front and full printed advertisements on the reverse, including three for Peck & Snyder Sporting Goods. SGC Grading Composite: One VG/EX 50: 1st Baseman. One GOOD 30: Pitcher. Five FAIR 20: Batsman, Centre Fielder, Left Fielder, Short Stop, and 3rd Baseman. One POOR 10: Catcher. One Authentic: 2nd Baseman. All nine cards present extremely well, with bright colors and crisp images. As is commonly the case with nineteenth-century cards (and especially trade cards), flaws on the reverse, including paper loss and glue residue, account for the modest assigned grades. This is a very attractive and extremely desirable complete set of this 1880s trade-card issue. Total: 9 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $600
