1909-1911 T206 White Border Collection with Cut Signatures (11) Including Flick and Marquard - PSA/DNA
Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $960
Collection of eleven cards, issued by Historic Autographs, each featuring a T206 card and a cut signature example of the respective player. All of these cards are part of Historic Autographs' Originals 1909-1912 Diamond Edition set, which was issued in conjunction with PSA/DNA. As such, each card has been encapsulated by PSA/DNA, with all of the signatures certified as "Authentic." Each card in this set was issued in different quantities, ranging from only three or four, to more than thirty. (The quantities produced were obviously determined by the number of authentic signature examples that could be found for each player; T206 cards for most players are easily obtainable if condition is not a concern.) The limitation number for each card is duly noted on the PSA/DNA label. According to the company's website, the current checklist for this set features ninety different players. The cards represented in this collection (with limitation number noted in parentheses) are as follows: 1) Jap Barbeau ("13/14"), 2) Jack Barry ("5/6"), 3) Elmer Flick ("1/25"), 4) Paddy Livingston ("10/35"), 5) Rube Marquard ("17/37"), 6) Harry Pattee ("12/13"), 7) Nap Rucker ("4/8"), 8) Hunky Shaw ("3/7"), 9) Fred Snodgrass ("10/25"), 10) Ira Thomas ("3/4"), and 11) Doc White ("6/11"). All of the signatures, penned in a variety of inks, grade "9" or "10." The cuts, which include portions of plain white pieces of paper, lined index cards, and legal documents, are all in apparent Near Mint condition. The T206 cards range from Poor to Very Good, averaging Good. All of the Originals 1909-1912 Diamond Edition cards remain in Near Mint to Mint condition. Total: 11 cards. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA.
