1952-1953 Parkhurst Hockey #86 Terry Sawchuk SGC GEM MINT 98

Starting Bid - $1,500, Sold For - $1,800

Graded GEM MINT 98 by SGC. This is the ONLY example graded at this level by PSA and SGC combined! Absolutely incredible, ultra high-grade example of #86 Terry Sawchuk from the 1952-1953 Parkhurst Hockey set. This is Sawchuk's second-year card, and shows the Detroit Red Wings Hall of Famer ideally posed in a goal-tending position. To date, PSA and SGC have combined to grade 185 examples of this card; this is the only GEM MINT example evaluated, and only two cards have ever graded MINT (both PSA). As expected, the offered card is flawless in every way! It is bright, crisp, and clean, with bold colors, a perfect image, 50/50 centering all around, and four razor-sharp corners. The back, which is so often plagued by wax or gum stains, is boldly printed and entirely clean. It would be hard to imagine a finer example of any card, let alone one of the key cards from this classic set. A tremendous addition to any world-class Parkhurst set, Terry Sawchuk, or Hall of Fame-card collection. Reserve $1,500. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $1,800
