1887 H804 Tobin Lithographs SGC-Graded Collection (5)
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $300
Presented is a very attractive collection of five different H804 Tobin Lithographs trade cards, each graded and encapsulated by SGC. These cards were designed to allow merchants to overprint their own ads on the front or blank backs, for use as an advertising vehicle. This collection consists of the following: “A Daisy Cutter” (George Boyd & Sons reverse, POOR 10), “A Home Run” (Globe Tea Company Stamp, POOR 10), “Not Out” (Authentic), “Oh What A Snap!” (Globe Tea Company stamp, POOR 10), and “Shoulder High” (Globe Tea Company stamp, POOR 10). Several of these trade cards have been very harshly graded due to modest back damage (which comes with the territory with nineteenth-century trade cards) and have a much stronger appearance than the SGC-assigned grades. An outstanding sampling of trade cards from this popular nineteenth-century trade-card issue. Total: 5 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $300
