1909-1911 T206 White Border Charlie Hemphill - Interesting Printing Anomaly with Parts of Four Backs Showing!
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $720
Fascinating example of Charlie Hemphill (New York Highlanders) from the legendary T206 White Border series. While at first glance the offered card may appear to just be a regular common, it is particularly notable for a significant printing anomaly on the back which has resulted in portions of multiple advertising backs being visible. The front is well centered, but the card experienced shifting of the reverse production sheet during the printing process. Graded GOOD 30 by SGC, the card is bright and clean, with even rounding to the corners. Approximately 75% of a regular Sweet Caporal 150 reverse is visible while small portions of three other backs are visible along the right and bottom borders. The T206 set, affectionately known as "The Monster," is the most popular of all 1910-era sets and is still yielding new and exciting discoveries more than a century after its production. As collectors have become more sophisticated, there has been a growing appreciation for all great rarities and unusual cards associated with this landmark set. This a very noteworthy T206 printing error that we believe will be of great interest to T206 scholars and collectors. Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $720
