1975-1976 Topps Hockey Partial Rack Box - 18 Rack Packs
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,700
Outstanding partially complete rack-pack box from the 1975-1976 Topps Hockey series consisting of eighteen original rack packs (out of twenty-four in a complete box). Each rack pack contains 42 cards for a total of 756 cards. Hall of Famers Jean Ratelle and Bernie Parent are in the top center panel of two packs. The 1975-1976 Topps Hockey set includes the rookie card of Hall of Famer Clark Gillies, and many other Hall of Famers including Mikita, Dryden, Orr, LaFleur, and Potvin. There are no guarantees with reference to grading unopened material, but it would be hard to imagine that these packs do not include high-grade examples of these stars and other cards from the set. The packs show normal aging associated with rack packs from this era, but are in overall Excellent to Near Mint condition. Curling of the rack has affected the bottom border of the center card on approximately half of the packs. The accompanying rack-pack box displays with bold colors but is in very modest condition overall, with the entire lid missing, separations at the joints, and light creasing on the side panels. This is a substantial collection of extremely scarce 1975-1976 Topps Hockey packs, which are far rarer than most other packs from the mid-1970s, with tremendous break-up value! Total: 18 packs. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $2,700
