1951-1952 Parkhurst Hockey #4 Maurice Richard Rookie SGC EX/NM 80

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $2,040

Graded EX/NM 80 by SGC. Exceptionally crisp, clean, and high-grade rookie card of Hall of Famer Maurice Richard from the classic 1951-1952 Parkhurst set. 1951-1952 Parkhurst cards typically suffer from a variety of condition problems, including print defects and a tendency to have soft corners, which make high-grade examples particularly difficult to find. (Some collectors understandably think these cards were issued with soft corners!) The offered example is perfectly centered, with bright colors, a flawless image, and four strong corners showing light touches of wear. Perfectly clean on both the front and the blank-back reverse. This is a very attractive example of this important rookie card, which is one of the key cards in the extremely condition-sensitive 1951-1952 Parkhurst set. The equivalent SMR value for the assigned grade is $1,000. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+. SOLD FOR $2,040
