Helmar T206 Collection (115) with Cobb ("Sliding into Third"), Mantle, Joe Jackson, Mathewson, Joss, and Lajoie
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $2,040
Collection of 115 different cards, similar in design to the popular T206 White-Border tobacco cards, issued by the Helmar Brewing Company. Both major league and minor-league players are featured in the set, as are those from the short-lived Federal League (1914-1915), and Negro Leagues. Please note that while a number of players are represented more than once, the poses are all different, therefore no duplicates are included here. Various advertising designs adorn the reverse of each card. In our listing, we have broken the Major League and Federal League cards down by league and team affiliation. The Negro League and minor-league cards are listed by player (with team noted in parentheses). The number of cards for each player (within the grouping of his team designation), if more than one, is noted in parentheses.

The production number for each of the "T206" cards offered here was limited to just twenty-five total, with no more than six produced per calendar year. As a point of reference, it should be noted that in sirraffles' most recent individual eBay auctions for the 115 cards in this collection, the cumulative sale total was in excess of $2,750. Like all of the Helmar issues, these cards were intentionally produced with a distressed look, with most having rounded corners and rubbed edges. Near Mint condition overall. Total 115 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $2,040
