1909-1911 T206 White Border Nap Rucker Throwing - Rare Broad Leaf 460 Back - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $9,600

Graded VG+ 45 by SGC. This is the ONLY example graded at this level with none higher! Incredible T206 example of Nap Rucker/throwing (Brooklyn Superbas) with the extremely rare Broad Leaf Cigarettes (460 Series) advertisement on the back. Broad Leaf (460 Series) backs are striking, unusual, and extremely rare. According to T206Resource.com, this back ranks as the fourth most difficult (of thirty-nine) advertising reverse. While Broad Leaf (460 Series) cards are by no means easy to find, the three backs ranking ahead on the list are considered by many to be nearly impossible (they are the Ty Cobb Tobacco brand back, Brown Old Mill, and Brown Lenox, respectively). Only sixty-three examples of any subject with the rare Broad Leaf (460 Series) reverse (in any condition) have ever been graded by SGC and PSA combined! This is a gorgeous card in all respects. The card has very strong eye-appeal and is perfectly clean both front and back, with extremely bold color, outstanding centering, and only light touches of wear to the corners. A faint surface wrinkle in the lower left corner and along the right border is all that keeps this card from grading Vg-Ex+ or Ex. The Broad Leaf print on the reverse is flawless and particularly bold (it very well may be the boldest that we can ever recall seeing on a Broad Leaf 460 Series card). This is an exceptional example of one of the rarest and most desirable of all T206 advertising backs. Reserve $1,000. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $9,600
