Graded EX 60 by SGC (submitted by REA). This is the ONLY example graded at this level with none higher! Magnificent example of New York Giants Hall of Fame pitcher Christy Mathewson in a throwing pose from the rare and highly regarded PC805 postcard set issued by the Novelty Cutlery Co. of Canton, Ohio, in 1907. The PC805 series is universally recognized as one of the most desirable of all baseball postcard issues. These cards have always been appreciated by collectors both for their extreme rarity and distinctive style. This very attractive example of Christy Mathewson is one of the key Hall of Famers in the Novelty Cutlery set. The offered card is very crisp and clean, with only light wear to the four corners (slightly more to the top two). The reverse is perfectly clean and has never been written on or used postally.
