1908 F. J. Offerman Postcard Charles Kisinger - Highest Graded!
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $720
Graded VG+ 45 by SGC (submitted by REA). This is the only example graded at this level with none higher. Presented is an outstanding sample card from the 1908 F. J. Offerman Postcard series featuring Charles Kisinger of the Buffalo Bisons. The Offerman series exclusively depicts members of the Buffalo Bisons minor-league team of the Eastern League and is very similar in design to the American League Publishing Postcard series of the same year. Kisinger, who enjoyed a brief stint in the Major Leagues with Detroit from 1902 to 1903, is pictured in a throwing pose on the front of the postcard, with a small portrait in an oval alongside and statistical and biographical information at the bottom. Do not be fooled by the modest assigned grade! This postcard presents as Ex-Mt or better from the front, but has been downgraded due to a small surface chip on the reverse. The traditional postcard reverse is otherwise clean and has not been written on or mailed. This is a very attractive sample card from this rare issue that would be a worthy addition to any advanced postcard or type-card collection. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+. SOLD FOR $720
