1909-1910 E97 C. A. Briggs Co. Earl Moore PSA EX-MT 6 - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,200

Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. This is the only example graded at this level with none higher! High-grade example of Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Earl Moore in a ready-to-pitch pose from the extremely rare E97 C. A. Briggs Co. series. This 30-card set was issued in 1909-1910 by the C. A. Briggs Co. This set is closely related to several other candy sets from the era, which share the same format and, in many cases, the same player image. The cards are very similar in design but much rarer than their E93 counterparts and can easily be distinguished from E93s by the attractive brown-printed checklist of the complete set and the advertisement for "C. A. Briggs Co., Lozenge Makers, Boston, Mass." along the bottom on the reverse of each card. As is the case with most 1910-era tobacco and “E” card issues, E97 C. A. Briggs Company cards each measure approximately 1.5 x 2.75 inches. The card is bright and crisp, with vibrant colors, four strong corners displaying only tiny hints of wear under close inspection, and centered slightly to the bottom. The checklist on the back is printed in bold brown ink and perfectly clean. This is an exceptionally attractive E97 C. A. Briggs Company sample in an extremely high grade. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $1,200
