Large Circa 1940s/1950s Baseball Autograph Collection with DiMaggio, Williams, Greenberg and Many other Hall of Famers and Stars (600+)

Collection of ninety-five autograph album pages, plus a few cuts, featuring approximately 600 baseball autographs, including those of forty-seven Hall of Famers (representing twenty-seven different players) and many stars from the era. Also included are four sheets featuring the signatures of fifty-one pro football players from the same era. With few exceptions, nearly all of the baseball autograph-album sheets feature American League teams and date to the late 1940s and early 1950s (none date later than the early 1960s). Nearly all of the sheets display more than one signature and many of the sheets are signed front and back. Many duplicate signatures are included.
The forty-seven Hall of Fame signatures featured here, with the number for each, if more than one, noted in parentheses, are Alston, Berra (2), Boudreau (2), Cepeda, Cronin, J. Dimaggio (4), Dickey (2), Doby, Doerr (3), Drysdale, Durocher, R. Ferrell (2), Fox, Gordon, Greenberg (3), Kell (3), Koufax, Lopez, McCarthy, Mize, Reese, Rizzuto (3), Ruffing (2), Simmons, Snider, T. Williams (3), and Wynn (3).

The fifty-one football signatures include those of Hall of Famers Red Grange, Bruiser Kinard, and Bob Waterfield.
The signatures, penned in both ink and pencil, range from "1" to "10," averaging "7/8." It should be noted that approximately fifty signatures (on various sheets) have been covered with clear tape that has toned with age. All of the sheets (averaging 5 x 4 inches), which originate from a number of different albums, have been roughly torn from their respective album and most display edge tears and/or punched notebook holes. Approximately 40% of the sheets display larger tears with paper loss. In Good condition overall. Total: 99 autograph album sheets (95 baseball; four football). Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA.
