1936 R61 "Government Agents vs. Public Enemies" Complete Set (24)

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $240

Rarely offered complete set of all twenty-four cards comprising the 1936 "Government Agents vs. Public Enemies" set, issued by M. Pressner & Company. This is one of nonsport-card collecting's all-time classic sets. These cards chronicle law enforcement adventures in an era that glamorized, at times, both the representatives of law enforcement as well as the criminals. The set grades 50% Vg and 50% lesser. The central images on all are very strong, but these cards wear very easily and have been downgraded mostly due to corner and edge wear or light creases. This is a very presentable complete set of these unusual, scarce, and very colorful 1930s cards, which celebrate law enforcement and capture the spirit of the times. Total 24 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $240
