1910-1911 M116 Sporting Life PSA-Graded Collection (7) Including Five Hall of Famers
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $840
Seven different cards from the classic 1910-1911 M116 Sporting Life set, each professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA, and highlighted by five Hall of Famers. Many collectors consider M116 to represent one of the era's most exceptional values. In terms of the number of players featured, M116 is the second most substantial set of the 1910 era featuring major leaguers, trailing only T206. Despite being so similar in design to their T206 counterparts, M116s in general are actually far rarer, though according to price guides they are lower in value. This lot consists of the following: Chief Bender (HOF, VG 3), Clyde Engle (GOOD 2), Elmer Flick (HOF, GOOD 2 [MC]), John McGraw (HOF, EX 5), Rube Oldring (VG-EX 4), Eddie Plank (HOF, VG 3), and Robert Wallace (HOF, GOOD 2). This is a small but desirable collection of quality vintage cards, with several notable highlights, from the popular M116 series. The SMR value in the assigned grades (excluding the one qualified card) is $741. Total: 7 cards.
