1928 R315 "Portraits and Action" Babe Ruth
Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $840
Graded GOOD 2 by PSA. Presented is very attractive example of Babe Ruth from the R315 "Portraits and Action" series. The R315 set has been referred to as the "Portraits and Action" series ever since Jefferson Burdick named it in the 1930s in his first American Card Catalog. It is unknown exactly how they were issued or whether this is a formal name provided by the issuer. Crisp image of Ruth, with even wear to the corners (more so on the bottom left), several creases, and centered to the extreme top. R315s are found printed on several different-quality stocks. This example is printed on the highest-quality black-and-white style stock. A solid example of this 1928 card featuring Babe Ruth in a classic swing-thru pose. One of Babe Ruth's few cards dating from the late 1920s.
