1909 E92 Nadja Caramels Chief Bender Striped Hat SGC EX/NM 80 - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,920

Graded EX/NM 80 by SGC. This is the only example graded at this level with none higher! This rare Nadja Caramels issue from 1909 shares designs with several other closely related candy issues (Croft's Candy, Dockman & Sons, etc.) from the same era. The offered example of Hall of Famer Chief Bender (striped cap variation) is bright and crisp, with vibrant colors, four strong corners, and outstanding centering (a slight natural diamond cut is present on the top and bottom edges). The Nadja advertising reverse is perfectly clean with a slight tilt. Caramel cards in general are much rarer than tobacco cards of the era. Because they were issued with caramels one card per package and sold to children (as opposed to being sold to adults with tobacco), they also tend to survive in a much lower grade. This is an exceptional ultra high-grade Hall of Fame example from this rare, early twentieth-century candy issue. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $1,920
