1909-1911 T206 White Border PSA- and SGC-Graded Southern Leaguers Collection (28)

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $2,700

Collection of twenty-seven different cards (plus one duplicate) from the desirable T206 White Border Southern Leaguer subset, representing slightly more than half of the forty-eight card set. Each card is professionally graded and encapsulated by SGC (except for six PSA). The Southern Leaguers have always been appreciated for their scarcity and as a popular subset to the T206 series. They have also always been listed at a significant premium in relation to regular cards in the set. All cards in the offered collection have Piedmont advertising backs. SGC Grading Composite: One EX 5: Hooker - Lynchburg (PSA). Three VG/EX+ 55: M. Miller - Dallas, Otey - Norfolk, and Shaughnessy - Roanoke. Three VG/EX 50: Breitenstein - New Orleans, Coles - Augusta (PSA VG-EX 4), and Orth - Lynchburg. One VG+ 45: Reagan - New Orleans (PSA VG+ 3.5). Six VG 40: Breitenstein - New Orleans, Foster - Charleston, Lafitte - Macon, Thebo - Waco, Westlake - Danville (PSA VG 3), and White - Houston. Two GOOD+ 35: Perdue - Nashville and Rockenfeld - Montgomery (PSA GOOD+ 2.5). Eight GOOD 30: Bernhard - Nashville, Cranston - Memphis, B. Hart - Little Rock (PSA GOOD 2), J. Hart - Montgomery, Helm - Columbus, King - Danville, Molesworth - Birmingham, and Seitz - Norfolk. One FAIR 20: Persons - Montgomery. Two POOR 10: Lentz - Little Rock and Stark - San Antonio. One Authentic: McCauley - Portsmouth. The scarcity of the Southern Leaguers has always made putting together a complete T206 set particularly difficult. While the condition of this collection spans several grades, it is an overall very attractive group of Southern Leaguers that will provide an outstanding foundation for the assembly of a complete subset. The equivalent SMR value in the assigned grades (factoring in the seven half-grades at the lower whole-grade level and excluding the one Authentic) is $3,109. Total: 28 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000+. SOLD FOR $2,700
