1910 T213 Coupon Cigarettes (Type 1) PSA- and SGC-Graded Collection (10) - All T206 Southern Leaguer Subjects
Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $4,500
Outstanding collection of ten different cards from the T213 Coupon Cigarettes (Type 1) series, featuring ten of the nineteen subjects who appear in both the T213 (Type 1) set as well as the T206 Southern Leaguer subset. T213 Coupon Cigarettes are among the most unusual, rarest, and overlooked of all tobacco-card issues. Very similar in design and borrowing the same images as the T206 set, the T213 (Type 1) set was issued exclusively in the Louisiana region. A strong case can be made that T213 (Type 1) cards are a rare type of T206. At a glance, T213-1s look exactly like T206s, but when held in hand, it is immediately apparent that they are printed on extremely thin stock, in addition to not having gloss applied to the surface as do T206s. T213-1s also have a unique advertising design on their reverses. Approximately seventy different T213-1s are known. All ten cards are graded and encapsulated by SGC (except for one PSA). SGC Grading Composite: Two GOOD 30: J. Hart and Reagan. Three FAIR 20: Bay, Breitenstein, and Rockenfeld. Four POOR 10: Carey, Ellam (PSA POOR 1), Lentz, and Persons. One Authentic: Cranston. The T213 Coupon (Type 1) series is the rarest of the three styles of T213 Coupon. It was issued at the same time as T206, and all cards in the set share the same designs and identical captions as T206. From the front, in a plastic page or a holder, T213-1 Coupons are indistinguishable from T206s. This is a fascinating collection of ten different Southern League subjects that will be of great interest to both T206 and T213 collectors. Total: 10 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+.
