1909-1911 T206 White Border SGC VG/EX+ 55 Collection (34)

Starting Bid - $800, Sold For - $1,800

Collection of thirty-four different T206 White Border tobacco cards, each graded and encapsulated VG/EX+ 55 by SGC (submitted by REA). All have Piedmont (twenty-three) or Sweet Caporal (eleven) advertising backs. This is part of a larger collection of T206 cards, which we have broken down into several smaller lots organized by condition. This lot consists of the following: Arellanes, Ball/Cleveland, Beck, Clancy, J.J. Clarke, Cross, H. Davis/Davis on front, Donlin/with bat, Downey/fielding, Dubuc, Freeman, Jacklitsch, Knabe, Lake/St. Louis/ball in hand, Maloney, McCormick, H. McIntyre/Brooklyn, McQuillan, Murphy/batting, Murray/batting, Myers/batting, Nichols/batting, Payne, Pelty/horizontal photo, Purtell, Reulbach/glove showing, Rucker/throwing, Schmidt/throwing, Schulte/back view, Stanage, B. Sweeney, J. Sweeney, Tannehill/L. Tannehill on front, and J. White. This is a very impressive high-quality group that would make a significant contribution to the completion of an exceptional set. The fact that all are in the identical grade, a grade which many believe offers one of the very best values for cards from the classic T206 series, makes this is a particularly noteworthy collection. The equivalent SMR value in the assigned grades (calculated at the lower whole-grade level) is $2,840. Total: 34 cards. Reserve $800. Estimate $1,500/$2,500. SOLD FOR $1,800
