1909-1911 T206 White Border Bob Ganley - Scarce Piedmont 350 Back!

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $480

While the offered example may appear at first glance to be nothing more than a common example of Bob Ganley (Washington) from the T206 White Border series, it is actually extremely significant for its Piedmont 350 advertising reverse. While Piedmont is considered one of the two most common advertising backs found within this set, there are several subjects who appear predominantly in the Piedmont 150 series and are very rarely encountered with a Piedmont 350 back. Although exact numbers can never be known, it is estimated that each of these subjects is approximately 50 to100 times rarer in the Piedmont 350 series compared to the earlier 150 series printing. Ganley is an especially desirable subject within the Piedmont 350 series. Graded GOOD 30 by SGC, the offered card is bright and clean, with bold colors, outstanding centering, and even wear to the corners. An upper right corner crease along with faint horizontal wrinkling directly above Ganley's head account for the modest assigned grade. A superb example of this tough Piedmont 350 subject, which will no doubt be of special interest to T206 scholars and advanced T206 front-back combination set collectors. Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $480
