1910 D322 Tip Top Bread William Locke (Secretary) PSA EX-MT 6 - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $960

Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. One of only two examples graded at this level with none higher! This is an ideal high-grade sample card of Secretary Locke from the 25-card 1910 D322 Tip Top Bread set issued by the Ward-Mackey Company. This is an extremely high grade for a D322 sample. Of the 374 D322 Tips Top Bread cards in total graded to date by PSA, only thirteen examples of any player grade PSA EX-MT 6, and only five examples of any player grade higher (all PSA NM 7, none higher). This very scarce set was regionally issued in the Pittsburgh area, and features only members of the Pirates, the National League champions of the previous year. The reverse has advertising for Tip Top Bread, and provides a complete checklist for the set. Bright and crisp, both front and back, with four square corners, a perfect image set against a bold orange background, and centered to the far right. The reverse is perfectly clean. This is an extraordinarily crisp, clean card, and for this issue a particularly high-grade sample card of this scarce prewar food issue.
