1903 E107 Breisch-Williams Tom Daly - Highest Graded!
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $3,600
Graded EX+ 70 by SGC. This is the ONLY example graded at this level with none higher! This is a remarkably high grade example for the 1903 E107 Breisch-Williams set. Extremely attractive sample card of second baseman Tom Daly from the Chicago White Sox of the American League. Daly played sixteen seasons in the Major Leagues. He was the only catcher on the Chicago club that traveled with Spalding’s World Tour of 1888-1889. When traded to Brooklyn, he moved to the infield and played mostly second base after 1892. Bright and clean, with light wear on the corners (more so on the lower left), an outstanding image, and a virtually flawless printed reverse. Daly's career spanned the years from 1887 to 1903, the year of issue of this card. He is one of a small handful of players (among them also Ed Delahanty and Kid Gleason) that appear in both the N172 Old Judge series of the late 1880s and the E107 set. An extremely attractive example of one of the most prominent veterans of the game in 1903 when the E107 set was issued. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000+. SOLD FOR $3,600
