1912 T207 Brown Background Armando Marsans PSA NM 7 - Highest Graded!
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,560
Graded NM 7 by PSA. One of only three examples graded at this level by PSA with none graded higher. Extremely strong and striking ultra high-grade example of Armando Marsans from the highly desirable T207 Brown Background series. Marsans is an important figure in baseball history. Although he was not the first Cuban player in the Major Leagues, he was certainly the first extremely successful one, and his well-documented challenge of the reserve clause in 1914 is also of great historical note. This is a remarkably high grade T207. To put the grade of this card into proper perspective, of the 7,088 T207s graded by PSA to date, for all players in the set, only 207 cards have ever been graded NM or better (less than three percent)! Incredibly bright and clean, both front and back, with a bold brown background, excellent centering, four sharp corners, and a flawless surface. Clean, boldly printed reverse. This is a magnificent example of one of the key star cards from this classic and condition-sensitive series. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,560
