1909-1911 T206 White Border Ginger Beaumont PSA MINT 9 - Sovereign 150 Back - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $12,000

Graded MINT 9 by PSA. Ultra high-grade example of Ginger Beaumont (Boston Doves) from the legendary T206 White Border set featuring a desirable Sovereign 150 advertising reverse. Sovereign is a scarce back, certainly not in the same league as Drum or Uzit, but very unusual and seen far less often than the standard Piedmont or Sweet Caporal advertising backs. This is the only Beaumont with a Sovereign back ever graded MINT 9 (a single other example with a Piedmont back grades MINT as well). Bright, crisp, and clean, this card presents with brilliant colors, four sharp corners, and snow-white borders. Centered a little to the bottom, with a very slight tilt to the image. The important advertising reverse is entirely clean. A grade of MINT is exceptional for any card, but for a T206 that is more than 100 years old, it is nothing short of incredible. Out of over 188,000 T206s graded to date by PSA, only 269 have been graded MINT 9 and only thirteen have been graded PSA GEM MINT 10. We have found that at auction cards from extremely popular sets with very low populations in the highest grades often sell for far more than SMR, and this is especially the case with classic vintage sets such as the T206 White Borders. Reserve $1,000. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $12,000
