Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $1,080
Consigned by an old-time collector who was very active decades ago, this lot presents a small but desirable collection of twelve cards from five classic set spanning the years 1887 to 1941, highlighted by six Hall of Famers. This collection consists of the following: 1) 1887 N690 Kalamazoo Bats Ferguson (trimmed, piece of tape across back corner, otherwise Fr). 2) 1912 T202 Dooin Gets His Man (Dooin/Titus, Gd). 3-6) 1915 E145 Cracker Jack #20 Falkenberg (Vg-Ex), 22 Wood (Gd+), 25 Simon (Pr), and 130 Wingo (Pr). 7-8) 1940 R335 Playball #124 Combs (HOF, Ex) and 178 Carey (HOF, Pr). 9-12) 1941 R336 Playball #15 Cronin (HOF, Fr), 18 Greenberg (HOF, Vg+), 19 Gehringer (HOF, Ex), and 64 Doerr (HOF, Pr). While the condition of this collection is relatively modest overall, it offers an outstanding opportunity to acquire real, original vintage cards which capture the spirit of the game and of collecting without breaking the bank. Total: 12 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $1,080
