1962 Topps Partial Set (474/598) Plus 39 Variations

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,440

Presented is a partial set of 1962 Topps baseball cards consisting of 474 different (out of 598) plus thirty-nine variations for a total of 513 cards. Condition is 9% Nr/Mt (including a few better), 79% Ex to Ex-Mt, and 12% Vg to Vg-Ex (including some lower). The 1962 Topps set has a well-deserved reputation for being the era's most condition-sensitive issue. The flush-to-the-border wood grain design of 1962 Topps makes cards from this set particularly susceptible to wear. Twenty-three cards are professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA. Keys: #1 Maris (Vg-Ex+), 5 Koufax (NM-MT 8 [OC]), 10 Clemente (EX-MT 6), 25 Banks (NM 7), 29 Stengel (Ex-Mt), 30 Mathews (EX-MT 6), 40 Cepeda (Ex-Mt), 45 B. Robinson (color added, otherwise Ex), 50 Musial (NM 7), 51 AL Batting Ldrs (EX 5), 52 NL Batting Ldrs (Ex), 53 AL HR Ldrs (Vg-Ex+), 54 NL HR Ldrs (EX-MT 6), 60 NL Strikeout Ldrs (NM 7), 70 Killebrew (Ex), 73 Fox (Ex), 85 Hodges (NM 7), 99 Powell RC (EX-MT 6), 100 Spahn (Vg-Ex+), 136 Babe Joins Yanks (Ex), 150 Kaline (Vg), 170 Santo (Ex), 199 Perry RC (NM 7), 218 Torre RC (Ex), 288 Williams (Vg+), 300 Mays (Vg+), 310 Ford (10/90 L/R, otherwise Ex-Mt+), 325 Aparicio (Gd), 340 Drysdale (Vg), 353 Mazeroski (98/2 L/R, otherwise Ex+), 360 Berra (Ex+), 385 Wynn (NM-MT 8), 387 Brock RC (Vg-Ex), 394 Aaron AS (EX-MT 6), 396 F. Robinson AS (Nr/Mt), 399 Spahn AS (Ex+), and 575 Schoendienst (Vg-Ex+). Other Graded Cards: #44 (NM-MT 8), 104 (NM 7), 178 (EX-MT 6), 367 (NM-MT 8), 413 (EX-MT+ 6.5), 418 (EX-MT 6), 441a (EX-MT 6 [MC]), 537 (NM-MT 8), 552 (EX 5), and 590 (EX 5). This is a very consistent partial set that would provide an outstanding foundation for the assembly of a complete set of this classic issue. Total: 513 cards (474 different plus 39 variations). Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,440
