1965 Topps Football Complete Set Including Namath Rookie (176)
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,160
Complete set of 1965 Topps Football, one of the most popular and classic of all football-card sets, highlighted by Joe Namath's rookie card. The 1965 Topps Football set is packed with Hall of Famers, rookies, and extremely tough-to-find short prints. 67% range from Ex to Ex-Mt (includes a few Nr/Mt), 9% Vg-Ex, 14% Vg, and 10% grade lesser. Many cards appear far nicer than their technically accurate grades, and the set presents with a remarkable degree of consistency in terms of condition. Keys: #35 Kemp SP (Ex-Mt), 46 Brown RC (Vg), 69 Blanda SP (Ex+), 87 Checklist SP (checked in ink, otherwise Vg-Ex), 99 Dawson SP (Gd+), 122 Namath RC (Vg-Ex), 133 Biletnikoff RC (Ex+), 155 Alworth (Vg), and 176 Checklist SP (checked in ink, otherwise Vg-Ex). The oversized design of the 1965 Topps Football set makes this issue particularly susceptible to damage, and makes the assembly of high-quality sets all the more difficult. This is an exceptionally attractive medium-grade set, far above average for this issue, with many key-card condition highlights and tremendous eye-appeal across the board. A high-quality complete set of one of card collecting's most popular football issues. Total: 176 cards.
