1912 T207 Brown Background George Weaver

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $840

Graded VG 40 by SGC. Extremely rare and highly desirable card from the 1912 T207 tobacco series featuring future “Black Sox” member Buck Weaver during his Major League playing days with Chicago. This is a very strong card for the grade, bright and crisp, with even wear to the corners, no creases, a brilliant image, and outstanding centering. There is no cigarette company advertisement on the reverse. Today these no-ad back cards are often referred to as "Anonymous" brand cards by collectors; in the old days many collectors referred to these as issued by Coupon Tobacco. Tremendous eye-appeal! This is an extremely desirable card both to Black Sox collectors and as one of the key rarities from the 1912 T207 Brown Background series, one of the premier tobacco-card sets of the era. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $840
