1915 D303 General Baking Co. Eddie Collins

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $840

Graded GOOD+ 35 by SGC. Rare example of Hall of Famer Eddie Collins from the D303 General Baking issue. Issued in 1916 by the General Baking Company, this series shares designs with several closely related caramel issues (E90-1 American Caramel Company, E106 American Caramel, T216 Kotton, etc.) from the same era. All General Baking cards are rare, but an example of Hall of Famer Eddie Collins is naturally all the more noteworthy and desirable. The offered example has vibrant colors and a crisp, flawless image. Centered slightly to the right, with even rounding to the corners, which accounts for the modest assigned grade. No creases. The reverse is clean with light toning visible and a flawless advertisement for General Baking and its products. A total of only five D303 General Baking cards of Collins have ever been graded according to the combined population reports of PSA and SGC. This very clean and extremely attractive example of Eddie Collins from this rare prewar food issue would be a welcome addition to any D303, type-card, or Hall of Fame collection. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+. SOLD FOR $840
