1927 E126 American Caramel "Series of 60" #28 Walter Johnson - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,200

Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. This is the only example graded at this level with none higher! Extremely rare caramel card of #28 Walter Johnson (Washington Senators) from the 1927 E126 American Caramel set. This set is of special note as it was produced in the final year that the American Caramel Company issued cards. It is also of special note as being issued in 1927 (an era and year of very few baseball card sets), as well as being an extremely rare card. Significantly fewer examples from the E126 set are offered compared to the earlier sets produced by American Caramel. Johnson, one of the key cards to the set, is ideally depicted in a pitching pose. The offered example is extremely crisp and clean, with perfect centering and even wear to the four corners (more in the upper right). Clean reverse, with a boldly printed promotional offer and advertisement. This is an outstanding example of this rare and extremely high quality caramel-card of Hall of Famer Walter Johnson. Reserve $300. Estimate $500++. SOLD FOR $1,200
