1922 E121 American Caramel "Series of 120" Ty Cobb - Batting

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,200

Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. E121 American Caramel (series of 120) of Detroit Tigers Hall of Famer Ty Cobb (batting), one of the key cards from one of the classic caramel sets of the early 1920s. Cobb is ideally depicted in uniform holding the bat that made him so famous. Bright, clean, and crisp, with four strong corners, centering to the right, and two light creases (one at top and one on the reverse); otherwise it has an Excellent overall appearance. Clean and boldly printed reverse. E121 American Caramel cards are rarely found in high grade, especially since these cards were sold in packs of caramel to youngsters, one card per package. This is an extremely attractive example of Ty Cobb, produced by American Caramel during an era in which there were very few card sets issued. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,200
