1952 Topps "Look 'n See" Complete Set (135) Including 35 PSA-Graded Cards

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,920

Presented is an extremely attractive mid- to high-grade complete set of 1952 Topps "Look 'n See," one of the great classics of early 1950s nonsport card issues and one of the earliest of all Topps sets. "Look 'n See" is one of the most highly regarded and collected of all postwar sets. This was an extremely ambitious concept for a set, with strong historical and educational content. The card fronts feature full-color portraits of famous people from all eras and areas of history. Any kid collecting and studying this set could not help but learn about and develop a greater interest in world history. Of the 135 cards in this set, thirty-five (26% of the set) have been professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA (except for one SGC). The PSA grades are as follows: Six NM-MT 8 (OC): #78, 94, 99, 129, 131, and 135. Sixteen NM 7: #7 Grant, 25, 56 Geronimo, 59, 60, 63, 64 Churchill, 66 Shakespeare, 67, 68, 70, 71 Edison (SGC NM 84), 83, 96, 118, and 125. Six EX-MT 6: #20 Einstein, 77, 79, 88, 112, and 130. One EX+ 5.5: #35. Three EX 5: #4 Lincoln, 18, and 31. Three VG-EX+ 4.5: 19, 50, and 65. The balance of cards in the set grade 19% Ex-Mt, 70% Ex, and 11% Vg-Ex. Ungraded Keys: #15 Ruth (HOF, Vg-Ex+), 30 Lindbergh (Ex), 45 Earhart (Vg-Ex+), and 82 Rembrandt (Vg-Ex). This classic and always very popular nonsport set is filled with many great historical figures. This is an exceptionally attractive and consistent set of this scarce and very noteworthy early Topps issue. Total: 135 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,920
