1965-2011 Topps Contract Extension Agreement Collection (16) Including Many Hall of Famers and Future Hall of Famers!

Collection of sixteen one-page signed contract extension agreements, between major league players and Topps Chewing Gum, spanning the years 1965 through 2011. Each of these agreements formally extends the player's existing contract with Topps for one or more years with regard to the production of baseball cards using the player's name and likeness. The player's represented here, along with the signing date of the contract, are Don Sutton (1965), Bruce Sutter (1979), Jack Morris (1988), Lee Smith (1989), Ryan Sandberg (1992), Trevor Hoffman (1993), Ozzie Smith (1994), Craig Biggio (1995), Jeff Kent (1995), Gary Sheffield (1996), Greg Maddux (1997), Roberto Alomar (1998), John Smolz (1989), Ivan Rodriguez (undated, but 2011 based upon the stated terms), Jim Thome (2011), and Omar Vizquel (2011). Also included is a one-page contract amendment, dated 3/8/75, signed by Dennis Eckersley in which he authorizes payments due him from Topps be paid directly to the Major League Baseball Players Association. All of the signatures, penned in a variety of inks, are boldly scripted and grade "9" or "10." Sixteen of the seventeen documents originate directly from the Topps Vault. Both the Sutton and Sutter agreements are accompanied by COAs from the Topps Vault, while all of the remainder bear Topps Vault hologram stickers affixed to the reverse, with the exception of the Kent agreement. The agreements (8 .5 x 11 inches) range from Ex to Nr-Mt, averaging Ex-Mt. Total: 17 items (16 extension agreements and 1 contract amendment). Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA.
