1910 E125 American Caramel Die-cut John Flynn - Running

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $840

Graded VG 40 by SGC. Rare E125 American Caramel sample card featuring first baseman John Flynn (running pose) from the Pittsburgh Pirates of the National League. E125s have always been held in the highest esteem by advanced collectors both for their extreme rarity as well as for their very striking and unique design. The fragile nature of all die-cut cards and the easily broken flaps at the base of E125s, which allow them to stand, make complete, high-grade examples, such as the offered card, all the rarer. The offered example is bright and crisp, with light creasing at the base responsible for the modest assigned grade despite a superior appearance. The reverse, with advertisement and checklist, is lightly toned and displays a trace of removed tape. E125 die-cuts are among the rarest of all 1910-era candy issues. This is an extremely attractive sample card from this rare and unique 1910-era baseball die-cut caramel-card set. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+. SOLD FOR $840
