Original 1915 news photo capturing Hall of Fame second baseman Nap Lajoie as a member of the Philadelphia Athletics. Encapsulated and certified as a Type 1 Original Photograph by PSA/DNA. The date stamp "May 16, 1915, " appears on the reverse, as do a number of editorial notations, including Lajoie's name, team affiliation, and position. 1915 marked Lajoie's penultimate season in the majors and the start of his second stint with Connie Mack's Athletics. One of the game's greatest hitters, Lajoie won five batting titles over the course of twenty-one seasons and finished with a .338 lifetime average. The photo (8 x 9.5 inches) displays a tiny chip in the lower right corner and a small diagonal crease in the lower left corner. In Very Good to Excellent condition overall. Reserve $200.
