500 Home Run Club Single-Signed Ball and Signed Hall of Fame Postcard Collection (17)

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,680

Collection of nine single-signed baseballs plus eight individually signed Gold Hall of Fame plaque postcards, each autographed by a member of baseball's elite 500 Home Run Club. It should be noted that a few of the balls display either special notations or a full-name signature, making them especially desirable. 1-9) Nine Single-Signed Balls. All of the balls are either official American or National League balls (dating from the 1980s and 1990s) and have been signed across the sweet spot in blue ink, with the signatures grading "9" or "10." The players represented here are Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams (Williams as added the notation "The Kid" on a side panel), Ernie Banks (Banks has added the notation "Mr. Cub" on a side panel), Hank Aaron (Aaron has added his home-run total, "755," below his signature), Willie Mays (the black-ink notation "Say Hey," written in an unknown hand, appears on a side panel), Harmon Killebrew (signed "Harmon Clayton Killebrew"), Frank Robinson (Robinson has added his home-run total, "586," above his signature), Eddie Mathews (signed "Eddie Lee Mathews"), and Reggie Jackson (Jackson has added the notation "44 HOF '93" below his signature). Most of the balls display light-to-moderate age toning and are otherwise in Near Mint condition. 10-17) Eight Signed Gold Hall of Fame Plaque Postcards. All of the postcards are in Near Mint condition and have been signed, in a variety of inks, on the front. The players represented here are Mickey Mantle (blue ink, "8"), Eddie Mathews (blue ink, "8/9"), Willie Mays (black ink, "6"), Ernie Banks (black marker, "8"), Frank Robinson (black fine-point marker, "6"), Reggie Jackson (blue fine-point marker, "9"), Willie McCovey (blue fine-point marker, "9"), and Harmon Killebrew (black fine-point marker, "6/7"). Total: 17 items (9 balls and 8 postcards). LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,680
