Enormous Baseball Non-Hall of Fame Single-Signed Ball Collection (86)
Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $2,160
Collection of eighty-six single-signed balls, representing seventy-nine different players. Although none of the players represented here are Hall of Famers, most of the names should be well known to even the most casual of fans. Unless otherwise noted, all of the balls are either official American or National League balls (dating from the 1960s to the 1990s) and have been signed (in a variety of inks) on the sweet spot, with the signatures ranging from “6” to “10,” averaging “8/9.” A few of the balls included additional notations by the player relating to his career totals or some special accomplishment. Nearly all of the balls display varying degrees of age toning, with many also displaying varying degrees of soiling. Balls range in grade from Fair to Near Mint, averaging Very Good. (Note: The "John" to which ten of the balls are personalized, as noted below, is a very longtime collector who had these balls signed for him who has consigned this lot to auction).
The number of balls for each player (if more than one) is noted in parentheses.
